Brenay Kennard has been accused of having an affair with a North Carolina woman's husband.

The TikToker has been named in a $3.5M ‘alienation of affection’ lawsuit for allegedly prompting Akira's marriage to Timothy Montague to end. The latter told a Durham County court just this week that he never loved his former wife and only married her for housing:

“We were just like roommates,” he said Thursday.

Kennard and Montague have since reportedly tied the knot. The former is a North Carolina TikTok influencer with over 3 million followers. She studied at the Word of God Christian Academy high school in 2014, where she met and dated Montague. She was previously married to Devon Mayo, who is Timothy's cousin, and is a resident of the Pitt County town of Winterville.

Brenay Kennard is most known for her lifestyle content and "get ready with me videos," alongside her cooking and makeup tutorials. She also occasionally does mukbang videos, a form of food reviews.

Everything we know about the lawsuit against Brenay Kennard as she defends herself:

Akira Montague filed her lawsuit in May last year. In order to win an alienation of affection case, the plaintiff must prove that there was love in their marriage and that it was destroyed by a third party. This can be done via testimonies, photos, or other receipts.

The third day of the trial took place on Thursday, and it saw Brenay Kennard represent herself as the defendant. She called her now-husband, Timothy, as her first witness, and also questioned Akira, the plaintiff.

Her former husband, who filed for a divorce in March, reportedly testified that he overheard Kennard and Montague speaking about rekindling their romance in December 2023. He claimed to have been asleep at the time, and also alleged that he heard the two getting intimate at his home in January 2024.

In her complaint, Akira accused Brenay Kennard of sharing photos of her and Timothy's kids without her consent, "flaunting" her affair with the latter online, and justifying her affair with him on a TikTok livestream. She claims to have discovered their affair in January 2025, when she came across a video of them together.

She also alleged that her former husband had cheated on her in the past with someone else, which Brenay Kennard referenced in her questioning. She reportedly suggested that it wasn't her fault that Akira's marriage ended, which is necessary for a plaintiff to prove in such a lawsuit in order to win.

Akira, however, claimed that her husband loved her, alleging that he would pen love notes to her every day in the lunch boxes he prepared for her before work. She also claimed that he helped her mother through law school.

The trial is reportedly expected to continue next week.
