Roda Osman, a.k.a the viral "brick lady," has been found guilty of fabricating allegations of abuse and crowdfunding $42K on GoFundMe.

Click2Houston has reported that, back in 2023, Osman, 35, went viral after she claimed that a man threw a brick at her head when she refused to give him her number. At the time, she shared a video of one side of her face swollen, blaming it on Olan Douglas. She launched a fundraising campaign to foot her hospital expenses, via which she raised over $42K.

Reports have since emerged that she was the aggressor. She has been sentenced to 90 days in jail by a Harris County jury and will undergo mandatory treatment for substance abuse. She will also shell out $42K in restitution, serve a 10-year probation, and has been hit with a 10-year social media ban. Should she violate this, she will be sentenced to another decade in prison.

Everything we know about Brick Lady's allegations and the jury's guilty verdict against her:

Click2Houston has reported that following two and a half hours of deliberations and the jury declaring her guilty verdict, Brick Lady had to be ordered to calm down several times.

Her bank records reportedly suggest that all of the money she raised was spent on trips to Jamaica and New York, as well as at restaurants, spas, and on rideshares, Harris County prosecutor Keith Houston said during the trial.

“That’s crazy, that’s wonderful,” Olan Douglas told KPRC 2 News on Wednesday evening. “Usually nothing happens. I’m very much happy.”

It started in September last year, when authorities responded to reports of an aggravated assault by Osman, whose friend was reportedly by her side. During the investigation, cops remarked that the Brick Lady was inebriated, hostile, and irritable.

At the time, she alleged that she was walking by Schumacher Lane with her friend when she ordered an Uber. They got into the car with its driver, whom she said tried to kidnap her. She also accused the man, whom she later identified as Olan, of being a human trafficker.

Click2Houston has reported that when authorities tried to contact Osman via the number given to them, it was Osman's friend's. The woman eventually admitted to the officers that she never actually witnessed Olan assaulting Osman, only that she heard her yelling, “Ouch - why you hit me?!” The friend also told authorities that she didn't believe Osman was hit.

During investigations, cops eventually found surveillance footage proving that it was Brick Lady who slapped Olan before he hit back, with what was seemingly a plastic bottle in his hand. As of this writing, the exact details about the incident remain unclear.
