Social media influencer CEO Batu has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Sunway Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia.
According to a report in The Malaysian Reserve, Batu was charged with committing non-physical sexual assault on the minor in May. The report said that he exposed his genitals to the teenager at 1:16 am on May 16, 2025.
He will be reportedly charged under Section 15(a)(1) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. The charge carries a maximum penalty of imprisonment for 10 years and fine up to RM20,000 or both, if convicted.
CEO Batu whose real name is Muhamad Iqbal Muhamad, is a Malaysian TikTok influencer. He is from Kedah, Malaysia. What do we know about CEO Batu as he gets arrested on charges of alleged sexual assault of a minor?
A report in The Sun stated that he pleaded not guilty to the case at the Ampang Sessions Court on July 10, 2025. According to The Star, Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said,
"He will be charged under Section 15(a)(i) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 at the Ampang Children's Court," adding: "For the Selayang Magistrate's Court, the suspect will be charged under Section 292(e) of the Penal Code."
Judge Norshila Kamarudin granted him bail at RM6,000 with one surety and he was asked not to disturb the victim, per a report in The Sun. Earlier, Deputy public prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie requested bail to be set at RM10,000. However, it was reduced as defence lawyer Mohd Anih Rafih argued that his client is currently unemployed as his social media accounts have been suspended by authorities.
A report in New Straits Time indicated that CEO Batu’s lawyer told the judge that is client:
“is also caring for his grandfather, who suffers from a heart condition and requires monthly treatment at the National Heart Institute. He is willing to comply with additional bail conditions, including reporting to the police and surrendering his passport.”
He added:
“Furthermore, he will not interfere with prosecution witnesses, as his mobile phone has been seized and he no longer has access to his social media platforms.”
The 22-year-old social media influencer has also been asked to report to the nearby police station once a month. Reportedly, the court is set for a hearing on August 14, 2025.
ACP Noor Ariffin said the deputy public prosecutor had instructed that he will be charged after referring to the investigation paper.
A report in The Star indicated that CEO Batu was previously detained on May 22, 2025 for sending sexually explicit messages to a 14-year-old but was released on bail. His arrest was followed by public backlash.
New Strait Times has reported that singer Caprice exposed Batu by sharing alleged screenshots of his conversation with the girl, allegedly sent by CEO Batu. Caprice claimed that the girl's mother had reached out to him for help.
The screenshots included chats, with an obscene image allegedly sent by the influencer, to show his surgical scar. The report stated that the influencer later sent a follow-up message to the girl’s mother, apologising for his mistake.
