My father, a comedian loved by thousands and a human being admired by everyone who knew him, has departed this world. He was an extraordinary, kind and intelligent man with a heart as big as his talent."As of this report there has been no mention of the cause of death. Now, look back at his six decade career as a performer it is safe to dub him as one of the stars of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.While Eduardo was making his mark across television throughout the 1960s, his biggest opportunities came when he teamed up with Enrique Cuenca. The duo known as Los Polivoces began to be featured in feature films such as Agarrando Parejo and Tres Mil Kilómetros de Amor. Stellar performances in those films lead to the pair being given the chance to star in their own vehicle with 1969's El Aviso Inoportuno.From this point forward the duo pivoted from film and began El Show de los Polivoces in 1971. The sketch comedy series featured imprecations, character work and was like nothing that came before it. Ultimately it is the crowning achievement of Eduardo Manzano’s career and the source of much of his notoriety.Eduardo Manzano’s most recent credit of note is likely his role on Mexican sitcom Una Familia de Diez.
