Ronnie Smith aka G$ Lil Ronnie Smith and his 5-year-old daughter were victims of a shooting at a Northern Texas car wash on March 3, 2025. Reports from the police state that the 30-year-old rapper and his daughter succumbed to gunshot wounds when two suspects opened fire on them at around 11 am local time at Slappy’s Express car wash, a local car wash in Forest Hill, a suburb west of Dallas.
According to reports from Forest Hill police, the victims were approached by the gunmen who then opened fire on them. According to Fox4news, Becky Johnson, who lives across the street from Slappy’s Express, heard the gunfire from her home:
"Six the first time, and then it was half a second, and I heard six more. Then a second later, I heard three,"
She added:
"I could see people fleeing for their cars,"
Police reports revealed that first responders tried to save the victims but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

G$ Lil Ronnie was a 30-year-old rapper residing in Fort Worth, Texas. The rapper’s discography includes Where You Been, El Chapo, Rat Trap, Juice Talk, Making Up, and Commitment, amongst others. His most recent track, Never Heard of Y’all, was released in 2024.

G$ Lil Ronnie also amassed about 40,000 monthly listeners on the global streaming platform. The rapper recently shared a heartwarming post on Instagram, February 13, 2025, where he posed with his daughter and her friend.
He captioned it;
“My baby girl couldn’t stand the fact that her friend was sad. This morning her daddy couldn’t make it to donuts with Daddy, so we let her know that it was okay to join us, and she can snap it up, and that changed her whole mood. My little Valentines literally.”
Stella Houston, aunt to G$ Lil Ronnie, described the rapper as a family man who didn’t bother anyone. The distraught relative stated:
“He was a rapper. He didn’t bother nobody. He didn’t target nobody. He was a family man, and he was going around rapping, okay. Why would you target him?"
She added:
“Cleaning the car out, and somebody came through shooting and killed him and the baby. And a baby. His baby. A baby!"
