Beloved TikToker grandma, Grandma Mary, has passed away at the age of 98.

She died peacefully in her sleep, as her granddaughter told her 1.4 million followers. Grandma Mary died on New Year's Eve. Her granddaughter, who goes by Pyxie online, shared,

"On New Year’s Eve, we said goodbye to Grandma. She peacefully passed away in her sleep. How lucky we are to have experienced her and her love. She will always be with us."

Grandma Mary went viral when she started making cameos in Pyxie's videos. and would often be seen going through her daily routines.

Earlier this year, Pyxie wasn't posting as regularly and had stepped back for a few months. In December, she gave an update saying,

"For anyone wondering, Grandma is alive and quieter these days. What a beautiful thing it is to witness who she is, and who she helped me become."

More about Grandma Mary

Mary was one of five siblings and was born in Massachusetts in 1927 to Armenian immigrants. She had returned to Armenia as a young adult, and it's there that she got married and began raising a family. When the couple's children grew older, they decided to relocate back to the United States in 1966. Mary has one son and one daughter. They settled in New Jersey, where the family owned and operated a gas station business. The business was a community fixture and supported their family for decades to come.

Over the years, Mary had maintained good health through physical activities. In fact, the spirited grandma used to swim in her family’s pool up till the age of 87.
