Who is James Argent? Why was he given a 6-month suspended sentence?

It seems like James Argent is up to something again since he was given a 6-month suspended sentence. Argent is an English television personality who is well-known for his role in the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex. He was considered to be a part of the regular cast on the show from 2010 to 2018. However, there were a few hiccups in between. Argent was suspended from the reality show in 2014 after he failed a drug test. A year later, he was back on the show after spending some time in rehab.

"James and Nicoline had a row that turned nasty and he pushed her over. He was arrested and taken to a station where he was put in the cells for a few hours. James complied with the police and the matter was resolved in the court on the same day."

In addition to the suspended sentence, Argent was also given a restraining order for two years. Regarding this information, the witness added:

"Their relationship is over and they can no longer speak or contact one another."

James Argent and former Miss Sweden, Nicoline Artursson, have been dating for almost a year, 11 months to be exact. The first people who heard about the couple arguing were the neighbors after Artusson was screaming. According to reports, the former Miss Sweden was at her apartment with Argent in La Cala de Mijas on the Costa del Sol.

The couple must have had an argument that escalated to a point where Argent was trying to push his partner out the door. As a result of the struggle, James pushed Artursson, and she fell down the stairs. That was when the neighbors heard her screaming.

They called the police, after which Artursson was taken to the hospital because of a few injuries. Reports claimed that James Argent was missing from the scene by the time the police arrived, but he was later caught and brought in for questioning by the local police.

He was brought to the Court of Violence Against Women in Fuengirola, where he confessed to "mistreating" his girlfriend. Nicoline Artursson was also present at the court. In addition to the restraining order and suspended jail sentence, Argent was also recommended to do a

"resocialisation course in the field of gender violence," by the judge.

A close friend of James Argent commented on the situation. They said:

"James has been at home in Essex since this happened. He said he had a row with Nicoline and that he tried to end the argument. James said he pushed Nicoline and that she fell. He is remorseful about what happened but is insisting he never meant any harm."

They added:

"He’s extremely sorry for it. James said he was honest when he spoke to the police and told them everything that had happened."

James Argent and Nicoline Artursson are yet to give their comments regarding the whole incident. However, reports have stated that Argent is back at home in Essex, while Artursson remains in Spain.
