Legendary talk host Johnny Carson's former wife Joanna Carson has reportedly passed away. The news was reportedly acknowledged by friends on social media and by the The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation on July 30. The post read,

"Remembering ETAF's dear friends and supporters, Joanna Carson and Wallis Annenberg, who embodied our Founder, Elizabeth Taylor's spirit of love and support."

While Joanna's date of passing and cause haven't been confirmed, it was revealed her funeral had taken place last week, per Extra TV. According to People Magazine, Joanna met Johnny at the height of her modelling career in 1971 and were reportedly married on September 10, 1972.

Model turned producer Joanna Carson reportedly passed away in July. Her passing has only recently come to light, through social media posts and confirmation by the The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. Carson was reportedly married to Johnny Carson for approximately ten years before they filed for a divorce. According to a 1985 story by The Los Angeles Times, Joanna had won significant monthly support following her divorce for "64 months."

Record executive Jason Dauman took to his Instagram to share a tribute to Joanna. Describing her as a "dearest friend" and "philanthropic community leader serving on the board of SHARE." He added that she worked as a,

"co-producer of ‘Beetlejuice’ and David Mamet’s ‘American Buffalo’ on Broadway."

He remembered her as "sparkling and radiant" and expressed gratitude for knowing the "Carson family."


Former model and Johnny Carson’s third wife has reportedly passed away in July, with her funeral taken care of recently. According to People magazine, she was "preceded in death" by her son, who passed away in 1994. Johnny Carson reportedly passed away in 2005 due to respiratory failure.
