Apple has filed a lawsuit in a California federal court against tech YouTuber Jon Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti for allegedly leaking the upcoming iPhone software update, iOS 26.
Jon Prosser is known for running the YouTube channel Front Page Tech and often shares details about Apple products and updates. The leak is about iOS 26, which is expected to be launched by Apple this fall, and was shared by him earlier this January.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed on Thursday, Ramacciotti allegedly accessed details about the new software using a phone issued to an Apple employee. Prosser has denied the allegations, stating,
“I certainly did not ‘plot’ to steal information, nor did I know how it was obtained originally.”
Apple has also stated that the employee, Ethan Lipnik, was fired from the company for failing to secure the device that was still being developed. Apple has claimed that confidential information was leaked online about the upcoming software.
When will iPhone 17 launch?
The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be released in September, and pre-orders will be on Friday, September 12.
Technology Editor of the Daily Express, David Snelling, has said,
"Apple never reveals anything until closer to the launch date, but Express.co.uk has done some detective work and we think all will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 9."
He further added, "Of course, we could be completely wrong as Apple likes surprises, but that date seems the most likely,”
iPhone 17 features
The lawsuit has not deterred Jon, who has published a video talking about the iPhone 17 Pro design and other details. The biggest change or update that can be seen on the new iPhone is the camera bar, covering a huge portion of the rear side of the two flagships. Along with that, the camera bar will be present to make room for bigger camera sensors and their hardware.
Prosser also believes that the bar will be present so that a bigger periscope zoom lens or a bigger sensor can be added to the top; this could lead to advanced imaging.
The new iPhone, according to Jon Prosser, will be focusing more on the advanced technology in terms of cameras and imaging. iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will also ship with a 48MP telephoto camera, along with 48MP primary sensors to enhance the photography and videography.
