Julian Brown, an Atlanta-based inventor and influencer, has not been heard from in two weeks, sparking a wave of concern.
With over 1.7 million followers on Instagram, Brown last issued a video online suggesting that he was in danger. In his Wednesday, July 9 video, he shared:
“I’m certainly under attack... I can’t go into so much detail." He also called on his followers to “keep your eyes open.” He concluded, “I’m still working. I’m still building. Nothing is going to stop that.” In his caption, he added, “Something is happening, keep me in your prayers please. SCREEN RECORD THIS. I don’t know.”
Julian Brown is most known for inventing Plastoline, which he claimed could convert plastic waste into usable fuels like gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. According to Live Mint, he has been passionate about the environment from a young age, and even launched a GoFundMe called "Plastic to Fuel – Together We Will Heal Earth."
The Chicago-born's fundraising initiative was set at $1 million for its goal, and as of this writing, it has raked in about $18,000, with donations still coming in. He is also the founder of Naturejab, which is a company that focuses on environmental solutions, as well as Jabaroma, which produces all-natural body products.
Everything we know about Julian Brown's disappearance as social media users fear for his safety:
As of this writing, further details on Julian Brown's whereabouts remain scarce, though social media has gone into a frenzy. Scores are sharing their pleas to locate the 21-year-old online as they tag FBI director Kash Patel and deputy director Dan Bongino in a bid to gain their attention. Furthermore, there is no evidence suggesting a missing persons report has been filed thus far.
Several outlets have reported that Julian brown resides in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. His work focuses on "microwave pyrolysis of plastic waste to create fuel," as seen in his Instagram and TikTok videos. He is also a 776 Foundation Climate Fellow.
Back in March, Julian Brown spoke to Bold Journey for an interview, where he opened up about the hardships of trying to convert plastic waste into fuel without adequate funding:
"I've made a conscious decision to avoid the traditional venture capital route," he said at the time. "This could have a profound impact on humanity, but only if it's in the right hands." He continued, "Giving up significant ownership and equity early on, just for the illusion of an easier financial path, never felt right to me. Instead, I'm harnessing the power of the internet, democracy, and sheer perseverance to raise the funds I need. I actively apply for grants and seek new opportunities to expand my reach. Most recently, I launched JABAROMA, a brand offering all-natural products."
He also said:
“I have dedicated the last 5 years of my life, starting in life, starting in high school to this journey. I begun this journey because I saw a huge lack in the industry of all things recycling. We are told recycling is occurring, yet any observance to our natural world would show otherwise. When I was five years old, I told my mom that I was gonna create something that would change the world," he recalled. "It's always been within me — I just never knew what it was gonna be," he said in that interview.
Another video of Julian Brown's that has since been going viral online sees him claim that he won't live very long, which is why he puts so much effort into inventing and growing. In the video, he also claimed to have noticed helicopters circling him overhead. He also alleged that he was wrongly reported to the US Environmental Protection Agency.
"I do this because this is my mission. I do not fear death," he said.
