Who leaked Blake Lively’s alleged "threat" to Taylor Swift? Insider finally revealed

According to an insider source, Blake Lively allegedly threatened Taylor Swift to take her side in the legal battle against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. Last week, Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, made the alleged threats public, but the identity of the insider source was not mentioned. They referred to the source as a "person very closely linked" to Swift.

Per The Daily Mail, the real identity of the insider source was revealed, and it turns out to be none other than Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift. Taylor's father divulged this information so that Swift would not be dragged further into any legal issues between Lively and Baldoni. Another insider shared with the Daily Mail on May 23, 2025. They said:

"Scott Swift did not want his daughter to be dragged into this any further and he voluntarily gave up this information as part of a deal that would include [Baldoni’s team] withdrawing their subpoena for Taylor."

Freedman shared in court last week that Michael Gottlieb, who is Blake Lively's lawyer, went up to Taylor Swift's law firm with the alleged threat. The court documents revealed that Gottlieb:

"demanded that Ms. Swift release a statement of support for Ms. Lively, intimating that, if Ms. Swift refused to do so, private text messages of a personal nature in Ms. Lively’s possession would be released."

It also mentioned that the Gossip Girl actress asked the singer to delete their text messages on her phone.

In response to the new statements that have come to light, Lively's team denied them by saying:

"We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality."

Baldoni's lawyer was backed up by an insider source, claiming that Blake's team:

"tried to extort Taylor by threatening to release private information about her so that she would support a narrative that she was not a part of."
