Who is Lola Doll? Influencer hospitalized in critical condition after late-night shooting near her residence

Influencer and recording artist Lola Doll is in critical condition following a late-night shooting incident outside her home in Texas Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

According to a statement released by the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the 33-year-old, whose real name is Lolita Callender, was attacked on Sept. 6 at approximately 11:35 p.m. local time.

Authorities confirmed that she sustained “gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands, and right leg.” Police noted that:

“preliminary information indicates that the victim was seated in her motor car when she was shot by a male on a motorcycle. Police ranks are actively pursuing the suspect, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation.”

The CCTV footage also shows one gunman treading briskly towards Lola’s white Mercedes-Benz before opening fire.

Lola Doll was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remains under critical care. Officials added:

“She is presently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remains in critical condition."

Family members recounted the immediate aftermath. Speaking to the outlet Stabroek News, the Guyanese influencer's brother described the panic of rushing her to the hospital:

“I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out.”

He continued:

"We rushed her here…I can’t tell you where all she was shot but she was shot in like her face, her side, I don’t know where else…blood, so much blood everywhere. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter.”

Loved ones, friends, and supporters quickly gathered at the hospital following the news. At the same time, police urged members of the public to assist in the investigation. Officials stated:

"The Guyana Police Force is urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Persons can also share information anonymously by calling 911 or the nearest police station. Investigations are ongoing."
