As the case against P. Diddy is going forward, he reveals the Avengers of lawyers he has assembled to fight his case. The rapper is facing charges of s*x trafficking, abuse, and multiple other illegal activities and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. According to prosecutors with the Southern District of New York, Combs

“used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice.”

The jurors for P. Diddy's case were selected on Monday, and the trial is expected to last eight weeks, starting on May 12. Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs has pleaded not guilty on all the charges against him. There are 4 witnesses willing to testify against P. Diddy, and here is Combs’ defense team and what they are claiming.

Teny Geragos

“He’s fighting. He’s innocent, and he’s going to be able to show it.”

Teny Geragos is a founding partner at Agnifilo Intrater LLP. Geragos has defended s*xual assault and securities and wire fraud cases and other cases involving public corruption, tax evasion, and narcotics trafficking. She has developed an experienced career in defending s*xual misconduct allegations.

“There’s a lifestyle, call it swingers, call it whatever you will — many people think it’s appropriate. The reason he thought it was appropriate is because it’s so common.”

Marc Agnifilo is the lead defense attorney for P. Diddy’s trial. The attorney had claimed that Diddy's "freak-offs" were actually a swingers party and nothing more. Marc has built his 30-year career fighting high-profile cases, including the dismissal of the r*pe case against former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn. He is also a founding partner at Agnifilo Intrater LLP.

Brian Steel

“The more challenging the case is, the more likely I’ll take it.”

Brian Steel, who has recently joined the defense, had gained fame for previously representing rapper Young Thug and winning his RICO trial. It was Georgia’s longest-running criminal trial. For winning the case, Steel also got a Drake case named after him.

Xavier R. Donaldson

“A just society requires that the accused be accorded zealous counsel and, more importantly, can you imagine a just society without criminal defense attorneys? I cannot.”

Donaldson was a mysterious addition to Sean's high-powered team. On May 1, he was first spotted when the defense appeared at a Manhattan federal court hearing, and there was an unnamed legal addition who was later identified as Xavier R. Donaldson. The lawyer has a surprising connection with Diddy, as they graduated from the same university, Howard University.

Alexandra Shapiro is a former clerk for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Another client of hers who is spending time at the same jail as P. Diddy is FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried. She has built her career on white-collar defense and civil litigation and founded her own firm as well. Not only that, in 2022, she also penned a legal thriller, Presumed Guilty.

Mark Geragos

“Race underscores everything in the criminal justice system.”

Mark Geragos is another high-profile name on the roster, being a celebrity defense attorney. Another case that he has been handling is clients as Erik and Lyle Menendez. In the past, the lawyer has defended the likes of Scott Peterson, Chris Brown, Jussie Smollett, and many more who were facing major charges. Though the role he is playing on the team has not yet been defined.

Along with these prominent names, Anna Estevao and Jason Driscoll are also part of P. Diddy's team. Estevao focuses on appeals, government investigations, and white-collar crime, and she joined the team shortly after his September arrest. While Driscoll is a new young face on the team, he joined Shapiro Arato Bach in 2023.

In February of this year, Anthony Ricco, who was another attorney on Sean's, quit after discussions with judges and stating,

"Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs"

P. Diddy can face life in jail if convicted.
