An AI-powered Instagram influencer named Mia Zelu has been taking the internet by storm following a string of photos of her posing at Wimbledon.
As reported by The Independent UK, the bot has flawless skin, long blonde tresses, and blue eyes. In photos circulating online, she seemingly had a great time at this year's tennis Grand Slam, which took place in London.
However, while some online may be duped into thinking she's real, her bio clarifies that she's “digital creator & influencer AI.” As of this writing, her creator's identity remains unclear, though she has over 160,000 followers on social media.
Just last week, the bot, notable for her fashion sense, sported an all-white ensemble with minimalist jewelry as she posed with the iconic Pimm’s drink at Wimbledon.
“Still not over the event… but the party’s a whole other game 🎾✨ Which Wimbledon match was your fave? #wimbledon #tennislife,” she captioned the July 7 post.
The post has since amassed over 47,000 likes on the social media platform.
Everything we know about Mia Zelu, as concerns about catfishing arise:
Mia Zelu has been even more active online, as just last week, she shared another photo of herself at the tournament, sitting at a table under her name. Clad in a mint green blazer and with minimal gold jewellery, she struck a smile for the camera, while the caption read:
“Your time will come. Keep showing up. Never give up."
Notably, however, her photos aren't the only thing that looks suspiciously real. Mia Zelu also shares heartfelt captions, such as this one:
“You know what’s exhausting? Pretending you’re okay while you’re slowly burning out. Smiling in messages, staying ‘productive,’ answering ‘all good!’ while everything feels off.” She added, “We’ve all done it. Some of us are still doing it. Because being honest feels risky. Because we don’t want to seem weak or dramatic. Because it’s just easier.”
According to The New York Post, the AI-character also has a "sister," Ana, who is a brunette. She has over 266,000 followers online and shares similar fashion-forward content.
Per the outlet, despite Mia Zelu's account mentioning that she's a fictitious character, fans have been fawning over her in the comments section.
Indian cricketer and 27-year-old vice captain Rishabh Pant was also spotted liking several of her posts, prompting everyone to think he is being "catfished." However, as reported by the Daily Mail, these likes are no longer visible.
