Who was NewAge Jerkboy?
NewAge Jerkboy was a Fort Lauderdale native rapper. According to his Soundcloud, Cornelius, known to many as a rising voice in his city’s rap scene, began his musical journey in 2015 alongside his childhood friend Roschad Jenkins, better known as Cheezy Bout Cash. His passion for music deepened after the heartbreaking loss of his best friend, Cris Nelson, also known as "Hotboi Cris," to cancer.
At just 19, Cornelius teamed up with Keymo da eagle of COA Music Group and two neighborhood friends to form the group New Age Rockstackz. The group gained attention after going viral twice on Facebook, but internal differences eventually led to their split. Cornelius carried the torch forward, rebranding as a solo artist under the Newage Rockstar movement. His independent releases on YouTube quickly caught momentum, earning him a devoted local following. At the time of his passing, Cornelius was preparing to release his highly anticipated mixtape "The Beginning of a New Ending" and was actively performing at shows and hosting events.
