Who is Otto Padrón? Mexican actress Angelica Vale’s husband files for divorce after 14 years of marriage 

Mexican actress Angelica Vale's husband, Otto Padrón, is the President and CEO of Meruelo Media. Otto's media company is billed as one of the fastest-growing minority-owned media companies in California.

On November 10, Mexican actress Angelica Vale confirmed that Padrón had filed for divorce from her, after they had been married for more than 14 years. On November 9, journalist Mandy Fridmann released documents of the divorce process. In the papers, Padrón noted "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the split.

When talking about her relationship with the media mogul, Angelia revealed that the two have been separated since April and have not been living together. Vale also noted that at the time her children, Angelica Masiel and Daniel Nicolas, were the "center" of her world.

When talking about why she believes the marriage no longer worked, the actress said,

"As my great Jose would say, 'love ends', and that's what happened to us. We forgot to water the plant." (translated from Spanish)

Vale released a formal statement and a message to Padrón and thanked him for their years together.

"I thank Otto, the father of my children, for sharing and I wish him the best always. What we learned during our marriage makes me the person I am today, the usual one, but with more wisdom and a long way to still grow."

She also highlighted that the two chose

"peace over any feelings that implies the end of something dreamed of for life."

Angelica Vale's estranged husband, Otto Padrón, was born in Cuba and moved to Madrid, Spain, at the age of 8 with his family before settling in Miami, Florida. Padrón has a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Economics from the University of Miami, an MBA from Florida International University School of Business, and a Master's in Strategic Studies from the U.S Army War College.

Before becoming the President and CEO of Meruelo Media, Otto Padrón served in the U.S. military. He enlisted around 1983 as a Special Operations soldier in the 75th Ranger Regiment and also served in the Florida National Guard as a Special Forces operator for about six years.

He retired as a Colonel in the U.S Army Reserve. After retiring from the military, Padrón moved into broadcasting and media. He worked at Telemundo and, in 2012, became President and CEO of Meruelo Media. He married Mexican actress Angelica Vale in 2011, following their engagement in 2010.
