Quentin Tarantino is one of the most heralded directors of his generation. Though he was a longstanding bachelor, Tarantino eventually found love and settled down with his wife Daniella Pick in 2018.

In recent news about the director, his wife Daniella revealed their life plans, and interestingly enough, they didn't involve a move from their current residence in Israel, despite the current geopolitical tensions and imminent danger in the region.

In a conversation with Israel's Channel 12 News, Pick recently shared some insight regarding Quentin Tarantino’s disposition during the attacks when asked if he was afraid:

“Absolutely not. Most of the time, he wouldn't even go down to the shelter if I didn't tell him... He isn't afraid. ‘Well, whatever. Like if something happens, I'll die as a Zionist.’”

The director feels safe despite the ongoing atrocities, as the family will continue to set roots in Israel.

Quentin Tarantino’s wife Daniella Pick: A relationship timeline

Quentin Tarantino first encountered his would-be wife, Daniella Pick, when doing a promotional run for his film Inglourious Basterds in Israel in 2009. She was an actress and singer, and the two quickly hit it off.

While their initial relationship eventually fizzled out, their paths crossed again, and the pair re-ignited their romance in 2016. Quentin Tarantino proposed in 2017, and the pair were married the following year in 2018. The ceremony was an intimate affair that took place at their home in Los Angeles at the time.

The pair welcomed their firstborn child, Leo, in 2020. Daniella gave birth to their daughter, whose name has remained private, in November 2022. Quentin Tarantino was sure to explain the story behind his son’s name in a 2021 Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance:

"We almost didn't name him that because people would assume I named him after Leonardo DiCaprio. There's nothing wrong with that, but ... he's named after my wife's grandfather, but also because, just in our hearts, he was our little lion."

In the same interview, Quentin Tarantino spoke about the family spending time in both Israel and the United States before the COVID pandemic. At the time, their time was already beginning to skew towards a life in Israel:

"Three to four months became nine to 12 months.”

The director added:

"I've learned a lot of words. I'm actually learning a lot with Leo, because he watches these baby TV kind of things and it's all in Hebrew. So I'm learning with him."

It is clear Quentin Tarantino has developed a strong sense of connectivity to his new home, alongside his wife and family, and it seems as though he intends to stay put long-term.
