Latin star Selena Quintanilla's parents, Abraham and Marcella Quintanilla, have kept the singer's legacy alive decades after her untimely passing.

Selena Quintanilla's father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., passed away on Saturday, 13 December, at the age of 86 from an undisclosed cause. He survives through his wife, Marcella, and his 2 other children, Suzette and A.B. Quintanilla III.
Marcella and Abraham dedicated their lives to continuing their daughter's legacy, who passed away at the age of 23. Selena's life was shared with the world through the Netflix documentary, Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy, which came out this November.
Marcella Quintanilla shared in the documentary, "I feel, in a way, a comfort. It helps me that people show so much love for her to this day. They took her life, but we’re going to keep her alive through her music."
The couple met in Tacoma, Washington, tied the knot on June 8, 1963, and together raised their family in the coastal city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Selena Quintanilla had a close relationship with both of her parents and after the documentary first came out, Marcella Quintanilla was not ready to speak to the public.
Suzette explained, "My mother is a very emotional soul, and she still suffers from Selena’s loss, and she can’t express herself because she tends to start crying,”
Suzette told The Hollywood Reporter in December 2018, "We feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory. With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family and the impact she has had on all of our lives.”
Marcella Quintanilla did, however, go ahead and give her first interview after the documentary's director, Isabel Castro, and her all-Latina production team convinced her to share Selena's life story. After the documentary came out, it was the first time she spoke about Selena in public.
