President John F. Kennedy's granddaughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, has died at the age of 35.
The late author and environmental journalist announced her cancer diagnosis in an essay for The New Yorker back in November. At the time, she recalled learning of her acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis, which she said was "terminal," just after she had given birth to her second child.
Schlossberg was one of three kids born to Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg. The pair also shares a son, Jack, and a daughter, Rose. The former is a political commentator and author, though this past November, he announced that he would be running to be the Democratic candidate in New York's 12th congressional district in the 2026 U.S. House of Representatives election. He is gunning for Jerry Nadler's seat, who is retiring.
Tatiana Schlossberg's family confirmed her demise in a post on Instagram on the JFK Library Foundation page. The post reads:
"Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts." It was signed by "George, Edwin and Josephine Moran," and "Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose and Rory."

Back in November, after Tatiana Schlossberg's piece in The New Yorker came out, her brother, Jack, showed his support by sharing a screenshot of it alongside a link on his Instagram Stories.
“Life is short — let it rip,” the congressional candidate captioned the post.
In her essay, Tatiana mentioned her brother and sister, expressing gratitude for their unending support. She also thanked her parents and husband for the same.
“George did everything for me that he possibly could,” she wrote. “He talked to all the doctors and insurance people that I didn’t want to talk to; he slept on the floor of the hospital." She continued, “My parents and my brother and sister, too, have been raising my children and sitting in my various hospital rooms almost every day for the last year and a half. They have held my hand unflinchingly while I have suffered, trying not to show their pain and sadness in order to protect me from it. This has been a great gift, even though I feel their pain every day,” Tatiana added.
Tatiana Schlossberg also opened up about adding a "new tragedy" to her mother, Caroline's life. She was referring to the latter's father, John F. Kennedy, being assassinated in 1963 when she was just 5 years old. Caroline's brother, John F. Kennedy Jr., also lost his life in a plane crash in 1999.
"For my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry," Tatiana wrote. "Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.”
