Shoals Theatre General Manager Steve Price passes away at 71

Steve Price, manager of the Shoals Community Theatre, has reportedly passed away after a "tough" battle following a cardiac arrest.
According to News 19, a GoFundMe fundraiser was previously started by a friend and Grammy-winning musician, Gary Baker. In his 10-year role as the manager of the theater, Price seemingly enjoyed every bit of it. In a 2024 interview with Living50plusshoals, Price described his love for his role and noted,
“There’s a line in a country song: ‘Find what you love and call it work.’ That’s what I’ve done here. I love this theater. It’s not like work.”
He added,
“It’s a great place to be, and I really do love it. It keeps me young. You see people retiring and becoming stale and stagnant. I like to keep living. You know, it’s all about purpose. This theatre is my world.”
Fans and followers of Steve Price's work paid tribute on Shoals Theatre's Facebook page. Netizens remembered Steve for his kindness and "twinkle" in his eyes.
