Instagram influencer Yarely Ashley Hermosillo has died at the age of 27. People Magazine has reported that she was gunned down on Friday, August 15.
Arizona Family has reported that the suspect, Jesus Preciado Dousten, 33, randomly shot and killed her while in a row with a driver in another car. He has since been arrested and hit with several charges, including second-degree murder.
Per People Magazine, Yarely Ashley Hermosillo was an influencer based in Arizona. She was most known for her cooking and lifestyle content, and had a total of 300,000 followers across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Her last post came on TikTok, when she recorded herself buying groceries at Target.
The circumstances of Yarely Ashley Hermosillo's demise explored:
AZ Family has reported that the incident began at around 11:45 p.m. At the time, the drivers of two pickup trucks were bickering while en route on Camelback Road. Dousten was in the center lane when he stopped his car for a red light at 51st Avenue and Camelback. The other driver was in the lane next to him.
While they argued, a Chevrolet pulled over on the leftmost lane, during which time cops claim Dousten yanked out a handgun. He then reportedly aimed it at his own driver’s side window and pulled the trigger. However, the bullet passed through his car and hit the one on his lift, where Hermosillo was sitting.
Yarely Ashley Hermosillo's boyfriend quickly rushed her to a hospital, where she eventually succumbed.
“My question still is, why would you just randomly shoot the other way?” Glendale Police Sgt Brian Hoskins said. “He obviously didn’t know the other car was there. That’s the thing, as gun owners, you have to know where you’re shooting, what you’re pointing at. You know, those are the responsibilities of being a responsible gun owner. You can’t just fire rounds randomly throughout. Specifically, a high, highly populated city,” Hoskins said.
Yarely Ashley Hermosillo was also with her child, 4, and her mother. Her TikTok has since been flooded with tributes and condolences, with many recalling her bright personality. A GoFundMe has since been launched to help with incurring the expenses in the wake of her demise.
"Yarely was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a beautiful soul whose light touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind her husband and their 4-year-old son, who now face an unimaginable loss. Yarely’s greatest joy in life was being a mother, and she poured her heart into caring for her little boy," the page reads.
As of this writing, the family is looking to raise $12K, and 76% of it has been completed at over $9K.
“Tracking from you know one location to another, switching cameras and continuing to follow the individual,” Hoskins said, per AZ Family.
Dousten has since been arrested, and his bond has been set to $1 million. He is now charged with aggravated assault, misconduct involving weapons (prohibited possessor), and endangerment, in addition to second-degree murder.
