Asmongold is taking a long-term break from streaming.

The YouTuber, who is most known for his World of Warcraft content, also has an established following on Kick and Twitch. However, during a recent livestream, he shocked fans when he said that a 6+ month-long stream is "inevitable." He cited personal issues as his reason, noting that he felt "f---ing fried."

"I do my best to live every day and, you know, be as consistent as I can be, but man, is it getting really hard for me to do."

During the August 8, 2025, Battlefield 6 and chatting stream, when a fan told him that he deserved a break, Asmongold said:

"If I do take a break, it's probably gonna be for a long time... honestly, probably months."

Asmongold elaborated, noting that "life circumstances" in his "personal life" had left him struggling to cope. He said that he was struggling with burnout from streaming, adding that he's frequently exhausted. He also told his fans that his father was dealing with cancer, making it more important for him to spend time with his family.

"I want to let you guys know that that's something I have been considering. I haven't made a decision on it."

As of this writing, he has yet to issue a firm decision about the same.

This is not the first time Asmongold has taken a step back from social media. As reported by several outlets back in August 2021, the popular gaming content creator announced that he would be taking a long hiatus. At the time, he said that it was because he was struggling with maintaining authenticity in his videos.

"I like having fun, I like playing things up, I like doing that stuff," he explained. "And honestly ... if I can't have fun, and I constantly have to, like, watch what I say, because people are gonna, like, take it and use it against me, I just don't want to stream anymore."

He also said that he'd been thinking about quitting for a while, noting that "big part of him" was exhausted:

"I don't want to do it anymore," he said. "It's not fun, I'm not enjoying myself, and if it keeps up this way I probably will [quit]. I hate to say it, but I don't want to deal with this anymore. I just don't. I don't have to."

Just months before that, in January 2021, Asmongold took to X to announce that he'd made his decision about the same:

"Going to be taking a break from streaming indefinitely. I've gone back and fourth about this for the past few weeks which is why I've missed so many days. A lot of different reasons why, too much to list out in a tweet," he penned at the time.
