Rapper BigXthaPlug gets booked on the same day as the release of his album ‘I Hope You’re Happy.’ The 27-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Xavier Landum, released his third studio album on Friday, August 22, and was booked at 2:20 a.m. Friday morning in Dallas, Texas.
According to court records, the "Largest" hitmaker was allegedly charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and the unlawful possession of a firearm, which are both misdemeanours. This arrest took place amid his album release parties.

A Dallas Police spokesperson states that "officers observed a vehicle without a front license plate traveling" in Dallas. They then performed a quick traffic stop and identified the driver as Landum and "located a firearm and marijuana in the vehicle."
BigXthaPlug's new album features an explosion of collaborations from across the country music roster of icons, including Ella Langley, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Tucker Wetmore, Shaboozey, Thomas Rhett, Bailey Zimmerman, and Darius Rucker. He first gained national recognition for his 2022 hit "Texas."
BigXthaPlug rise to fame in 2025
Earlier, he told USA Today how 2025 became a breakthrough year for him after Beyoncé used his song "The Largest" as an interlude on her "Cowboy Carter" tour.
"I became a part of the Beyhive," he stated, "Of course it's going crazy in the blogs right now, but as far as like streams and everything — they're listening right now, but I'm not going to see (the full effect) until like maybe three months from now. Everything's going to spike up out of nowhere ... and I'm going to know exactly where it came from — the Beyhive."
"It not only signifies what I'm doing, but it shows that I'm not the only one that is willing to do it," he further added. "It makes me feel good that there's somebody out there that's trying to push what I'm pushing."
As far as his arrest goes, no further communication has been made. BigXthaPlug has planned music release parties at a Deep Ellum nightclub on Thursday night and at a Dallas-area Wingstop later Friday.
