Ray J was hospitalized in Las Vegas for a severe case of pneumonia. The Singer-songwriter was admitted to the hospital on January 6th after suffering signs of pneumonia and chest pain. As per TMZ, which first reported the incident, Ray had previously suffered from the same illness in October 2021 and was hospitalized in Miami.

At the time, the musician mentioned that he was admitted to the COVID-19 wing of the hospital, since the institution assumed that the illness stemmed from the pandemic.

He told TMZ,

"I thought it was over"

Ray added that he started praying and

"knew God is good, so I just kept praying."

In 2021, after two days and several negative COVID tests, the singer was moved from the COVID wing and discharged later that month. Sources at the time reported to news outlets that the singer believed that his "busy schedule" and "constant travel" were to blame for his illness and that he

"realized he needs to take care of his health."

More about Ray J's recent projects

A few weeks before his hospitalization, Ray J took to Instagram to announce that he's part of a new show called Celebrity Hitchhiker:

"I'm hitchhiking right now to try to get to a place to stay tonight. Hopefully I can meet a new family, and it can take me in and teach me about their rules and their goals and life, and then send me on my way to the next destination."

At the time, the singer was in Tampa, Florida, and noted that he wanted to make it to Los Angeles in time for Christmas,

"I need some food and I need shelter. Just a lot of s**t that's happened. I just wanna get back home and see my kids. It's a hitchhiking show, but it's real though at the same time, and I wanna make it really authentic. I just do it for real on my phone. I mean, I have a camera in there too, but it's just me."

The musician mentioned that the hitchhiking part is real, and that he's all by himself. Ray J's hitchhiking show comes amid his legal issues. In November, American Express filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the singer and his company, Tronix Network.

The credit card issuing company alleged breach of contract and claimed that the singer and his company owed $139,849.85.
