Rapper Rod Wave was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, on Friday on weapons and drug charges.

Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was celebrating his first Grammy nomination on Friday, when the rapper got arrested in Atlanta on the same day.
There were a number of charges against the rapper, including a weapon and gun charge. Along with that, he was also charged with reckless driving, possession of a Scheduled V controlled substance, and possession of a Scheduled II substance.
In Georgia, Schedule II controlled substances include certain opiates like morphine and oxycodone, as well as methamphetamine and amphetamine, while Schedule V substances typically contain smaller amounts of narcotics such as codeine or opium, which are combined with other ingredients. This comes under the Georgia Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
As of Saturday morning, he was still being detained; however, his attorney, Drew Findling, told TMZ that the court agreed to an $8,000 bond. Due to this, he could be out of prison soon.
Rod Wave's past brush with police
This is not the first time the rapper has had an altercation with the police. Earlier this year, he was arrested after he was accused of firing off his Glock 20 10mm semi-automatic pistol. The Atlanta-fame rapper was accused of using his weapon at his Milton, Georgia home, allegedly after a disagreement with his realtors and other associates.
The authorities hit him with 14 charges after the incident,
“The charges included: Aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife… pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another, two counts of reckless conduct, two counts of criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree, two counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, two counts of felony tampering with evidence, simple assault, and conspiracy to commit a felony.”
Adding to this, there was also a 2022 domestic battery charge against Rod Wave that was later dismissed.
