Actress Nana is now being countersued by a man who was arrested last year for breaking and entering her house and assaulting her mother.

The actress, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, posted on Instagram explaining the situation. The translation of the original text explains:

"Thought the fans might be worried about me, so I’m leaving this message. It’s been quite some time since I found out that I was sued. I came to know this fact while I was going through a mentally difficult period," she further added, "I spent a lot of time thinking and reflecting in order to steady my shaken and fragile mind, and focused on making the best use of the time I had to set things right. I didn’t want to break my promise to the fans because of this incident, and I wanted to recover my health and stability quickly so that I could face them. Thankfully, spending time alone allowed me to regain some stability, and I felt that I had become a bit stronger."

Nana continued:

"I don’t know what will happen in the future. The future is unpredictable and won’t necessarily go as expected. These absurd situations are still happening, and I’m placed in situations where I have to navigate them. I sincerely hope that such unpleasant things won’t happen in the future, but in case unexpected unfortunate events."

The singer-turned-actress stated that she had known about the lawsuit for a while and was sitting on it until she had more clarity. Her agency, Sublime, is fully supporting her throughout this ordeal and condemned the suspect.

Nana's house break-in

On November 15 last year, a man in his 30s allegedly entered the home Nana shares with her mother in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, and was detained on charges of armed robbery causing injury.

He assaulted Nana's mother, who woke up after hearing her screams. Both of them together restrained the suspect and called the police. The police let the mother and daughter go after deducing that the suspect's cut was inflicted in self-defense.

However, since then, the suspect has filed his own separate complaint accusing the actress of attempted murder and aggravated assault, as explained by Sublime.

In a statement, the agency said, "Nana and her family suffered serious physical and psychological harm during the attack by an assailant armed with a weapon."

At the same time, the man claims that he "did not possess a weapon at the time of the crime or inflict injuries on the victims."

The Mask Girl actress herself holds a fourth-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
