"Why was she walking away tho?": Fans react as streamer Snowwcone tells Megan Thee Stallion’s entourage, “Free Tory” at DreamCon

Snowwcone makes a controversial comment directed towards Megan Thee Stallion as fans react.

In a now-viral clip, an upcoming Twitch streamer has sparked controversy after making an uncalled-for remark towards Megan Thee Stallion's entourage. At this year's DreamCon, the Texas-based Anime and Gaming convention, the streamer was seen talking to the rapper's entourage when out of nowhere she yelled out "Free Tory," referring to the Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. Megan Thee Stallion is the official talent at this year's DreamCon. The young streamer was seen repeating it twice as she backed away from the camera.

The comment was considered unnecessary and tone deaf due to Megan's history with the rapper.

Internet reacts to Snowwcone's comment

The internet had mixed reactions to Snowwcone's comment, as while some people thought it was insensitive after everything Tory did to Megan Thee Stallion, others disagreed.

One user stated,

"I just know she felt embarrassed after saying that the way nobody gaf and she walked away LMAOO just dumb and embarrassing"

Another agreed,

"she couldn’t even speak up and say it directly in their faces 😭 you’re weak"

One user also commented,

"And there you have it. The free torey officially become cringe. This is sad lol"

Tory's fans, however, came to his defence, saying that Megan deserved it.

One fan expressed,

"Glad they spreading the word Megan deserves to be in h*ll for putting an innocent man in prison"

To which another retorted,

"The state prosecuted Tory. The trial was Tory vs The State, not Tory vs Megan. She was required to testify by the state. Him being in possession of a firearm alone was a federal offense. All of the evidence + Tory’s own initial admission indicate he’s guilty. You are evil & slow."

While one fan said,

"The Free Tory became thing now, because he was mistreated and ruined a man's life 100%"

In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion claimed that Tory Lanez had shot her in the foot after a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house. In a live video, she stated,

“Yes, this n*gga Tory shot me,” for which she also had to undergo surgery."

She further stated,

“I didn’t get cut by no glass, but let me tell you why they’re saying that. When the police came because the neighbors called the police … the police come — I’m scared. All this shit going on with the police … I didn’t want to die. I didn’t want the police to shoot me cause there’s a n*gga with a gun in the car with me.”

3 years later, in 2023, Lanez was sentenced to ten years in prison for the shooting.
