Well-known Twitch streamer Jason "Thor" Hall, known online as Pirate Software, has responded to allegations against him on social media. His response comes after X user, Lyric, took to the social media platform on June 9, 2025, accusing the streamer of alleged manipulative behavior patterns, including claims of inappropriate advances and financial coercion dating back to 2018.
On June 10, Pirate Software denied the allegations and called Lyric a "parasite" for resurfacing old accusations that allegedly happened over 5 years ago. Responding to X (formerly Twitter), Pirate or Thor wrote:
"...Hell, your own website has you talking in third person and typing as if you're speaking from my perspective all over it. This sh** unhinged and pathetic."
The response came after Lyric posted a thread containing screenshots of alleged direct messages and other digital evidence, which they posted to support their claims. Lyric had claimed to donate $800 to the streamer during the development of Hall's indie game Give. Addressing this, Pirate Software stated:
"You were a massive donator to our game in the very beginning and tried to use that to get close to both @RiverMake and myself. It worked and we were good friends for a bit there. When you were in the sphere of friendship you tried to push that to something s**ual and I turned you down."
Hall also questioned the timing of the accusations:
"After 5 years you've come back around to try pushing this LARP again because I'm a big creator now. It didn't work in 2020 because everyone called you on your shit and it's not going to work now."
What has Lyric accused Pirate Software of?
As per Lyric's June 9 thread, Pirate Software began manipulating them in 2018 by using tactics like love bombing and feigning a romantic interest in them for financial gain after Lyric donated $800 while Give was in development.
According to Lyric, after making the donation, Pirate Hall allegedly initiated unsolicited erotic roleplay and applied intense pressure for a romantic commitment, despite Lyric's repeated reluctance.
Additionally, they accused Hall's business partner, Shaye, also known as RiverMakes, of attempting to silence Lyric when they initially tried to speak out. While responding to the allegations in the June 9 post on X, Pirate has accused Lyric of trying to benefit from their fame and has requested Lyric to leave them alone.
The controversy has sparked division among the Twitch and indie game communities, with some believing Lyric's evidence and others showing support for the streamer.
