The BET Awards 2025 happened on June 9, and Kevin Hart is this year's host. The American comedian and actor started his opening monologue by cracking a joke that subtly, or not, referenced the infamous Diddy parties, amid the ongoing s*x trafficking trial. He also mentioned Cardi B and the "pink stuff," which is a reference to the supposedly "pink cocaine" that her new man, Stefon Diggs, was seen handling.
The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) shared a clip of Kevin Hart's monologue during the beginning of the BET Awards ceremony. Hart can be heard saying:
"I'ma do my part, I'm shutting down the idea of after-parties. No after-parties tonight, okay? None. Take your a**es home after this. That's why I did it on a Monday. I did it on a Monday. People got to go to work tomorrow. No after-parties," he emphasized.
He continued by saying:
"That's when sh*t gets slippery... at them g**damn after-parties, okay? We're learning a lot about people, ain't we? We learning a lot. Take ya a**es home... No yachts, no boats, Cardi B, no pink stuff. What the f**k is that, huh? None of that stuff," Hart added jokingly.

Kevin Hart may have pinpointed Sean Combs and Cardi B at the beginning of his BET Awards 2025 monologue, but it is clear that the comedian has no bad blood with the Bodak Yellow rapper. Later in the evening, Hart took a moment to shout out some of the women rappers in the hip-hop industry, including Cardi B. He said:
"The women in hip hop are doing such amazing—I told you guys it's a matter of giving flowers, so I wanna make sure I celebrate this correctly. Shouts out to Cardi B, shouts out to Meg[an] Thee Stallion. shouts out to Latto, Doechii, just to name a few. You guys are all doing amazing things."
He concluded the shout-out by saying:
"We all love you, we all see you, we all support you. It's dope as hell to see how you guys are pushing the goddamn business in music forward. Keep going ladies, keep going."
Cardi B and Diddy are not the only A-listers Kevin Hart mentioned during his BET Awards 2025 monologue. He also brought up Kanye West while looking down at his phone. He said:
"Ah sh*t, it's Kanye... He says he's out front. He's waiting for somebody to invite him in. Hey, don't do it, okay? We all saw the movie Sinners, don't let his a** in here so he can bite somebody, so he can bite Playboi Carti again... Playboi Carti definitely been bit, something happened. Playboi Carti's been bit, I know he has," the comedian quipped.
Kevin Hart started the BET Awards 2025 as a host on a hilarious note, despite the jabs at Diddy, Cardi B, and Kanye West. However, all was done in good humor, and he balanced it out by singing praises to the women in hip-hop. The mix of comedy and celebration made for a memorable night.
