Pope Leo XIV has joined the lineup of the iconic figures at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, as two Pope Leo bobbleheads were unveiled on Friday, May 9, 2025.

The newly elected bishop of Rome, Pope Leo XIV, born as Robert Francis Prevost, made history as he was the first American-born pontiff chosen to lead the Catholic Church, following the death of Pope Francis.

Following the election last week, there has been a surge in merchandise inspired by Pope Leo. The collections include tote bags, mugs, and a novelty pizza from Aurelio’s called Pope-a-Roni.

Pope Leo XIV's bobbleheads officially unveiled

On Friday, last week, the bobbleheads of the newly elected pope were unveiled along with a few other items in the merchandise collection.

One of the bobbleheads is the one that depicts Pope Leo when he was first introduced on the balcony of the Vatican at St. Peter’s Square on Thursday, May 8. This bobblehead has a red mozzetta and a stole over a white rochet along with a pectoral cross, and is doing the waving action.

The other bobblehead is the Pope wearing the white cassock, a white zucchetto, and a pectoral cross on a gold cord. The co-founder and the CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum expressed his excitement in a statement on the museum's website, as the bobblheads of Pope Leo were unveiled. He said:

''We are thrilled to continue the tradition of bobbleheads celebrating the newest pope with the unveiling of these bobbleheads featuring Pope Leo XIV.''

He continued:

''Bobbleheads are the perfect way to show off your admiration for a given person, and with the excitement surrounding the first pope from North America, we know the Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads are going to be very popular.''

The bobbleheads are available online for $30 each, with $8 shipping charges, and the shipping will begin in November.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee is home to some of the iconic bobbleheads from all over the world including the bobblehead of the NBA Basketball player LeBron James, Barack and Michelle Obama, Mr. Boh, the mascot of Baltimore’s National Bohemian Beer, and a series of Queen Elizabeth II bobbleheads.

As Pope Leo was elected on May 8, the election and his Chicago roots saw massive celebrations and tributes. He then held his first mass as a pontiff at the Sistine Chapel and was attended by cardinals and dignitaries.

Before being elected as the new Pope, he served as the chief of the powerful Dicastery for Bishops and was appointed by Pope Francis. Pope Leo has hinted at administrative changes and also tackled the issue of clerical sexual abuse.
