Scott Shriner and Jillian Lauren's relationship timeline

There is not much information about how Scott Shriner and Jillian Lauren met, but the couple tied the knot in Hawaii in 2005. After four years of marriage, the couple revealed that they had adopted their first son, Tariku Moon, from Ethiopia.

Years after the adoption, Jillian spoke about her infertility issues, which made it difficult for her to conceive. She shared in a post on her Motherhood Later blog, writing:

"On paper, I might not be considered the best candidate for motherhood... My husband Scott and I had a long and circuitous road to parenting, including the whole painful infertility thing. We eventually found the right path for us and adopted our son [Tariku] from Ethiopia."

Seven years later, the couple decided to adopt another son, Jovanni "Jovi" Starshine. She shared the news on her official Instagram account, writing:

"I've been holding on to dozens of pictures these last 8 months and now that it's all final Jovi can go ahead and break the Internet... We believed in you from the minute we looked into the depths your sparkling, huge eyes... My heart still kvells every time I see them peeking up from behind the couch, where you like to hide and wait for us to find you. There is nothing in this world as wildly sweet as watching those eyes open when you wake."

Shriner and Lauren's relationship was mostly kept out of the public eye. They rarely spoke about their personal lives and chose to keep their family moments private. As a result, very little about their marriage was known to the public over the years.

This year, in March, Jillian Lauren shared the news that she is battling cancer on her social media. She wrote:

"Yes, I have a little bit of the C word y'all. I know a lot of us do... I'm here to thank the incredible oncology team here, who pulled me through a complicated operation without a hitch. I am always so grateful for every second of the compassionate, and excellent medical care I receive in my life. Thank you to all the remarkable health care workers, who take our lives in your hands. And let's all breathe."

Fast forward to December, Lauren filed for divorce from her long-time husband, Scott Shriner.
