Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's relationship has officially moved from speculation to being Instagram-official. Their connection, which allegedly started earlier in 2025, has now become a confirmed romance after the singer shared photos from Japan, dinner clips, and more.

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's romance has unfolded in small beats, reports suggest. At first, there were rumours in Montreal during the summer. Then, they were spotted in Paris, and eventually, the "hard launch" on Instagram.

According to people close to Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, the singer was not looking for a relationship when their romance started. However, Trudeau kept showing up. A source told PEOPLE:

"The only reason this turned into something real is because Justin has been so persistent. She was not looking to date when they first hung out and she certainly was not looking for a boyfriend."

The source continued:

"He has shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her. He has flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured. She likes spending time with him. She was flattered that he has made such a big effort and she is excited to be dating him."

Katy Perry's Japan post

Katy Perry recently went Instagram official with Justin Trudeau, captioning:

"tokyo times on tour and more ( ◠‿◠ ) 🎄🍣🐡🥞💐☃️♥️"

On December 6, 2025, Katy Perry posted a carousel of photos and videos from Japan. The trip took place during her Lifetimes Tour. It was the post that made her Justin Trudeau's relationship official.

The images included an outdoor selfie, moments where they looked into each other's eyes, and clips of them exploring an art exhibit.

Notably, earlier that same week, Perry joined Trudeau during his visit to former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. Kishida shared a photo of the group by a Christmas tree, referring to Perry as Trudeau's "partner."

Trudeau reshared the post and wrote:

“Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”

Katy Perry recently reflected on her tour as it neared its end. Posting on Instagram, she shared an emotional message:

"[I'm] so grateful, this has been amazing. 90 shows, I think our whole lives have changed. I am never gonna be the same. I got a lot on the tour, you know. I got love, I got connections, I got community, I got family, I got tea, I got to grow with you guys."
