Word on the streets is that Skai Jackson has filed a restraining order against her child’s father, Deondre Burgin. TMZ reported on May 19, 2025, that the former Disney star filed for the restraining order in an LA County Superior Court and has accused Burgin of being abusive towards her.
PEOPLE Magazine added that Jackson alleged that Burgin assaulted her early in May on Mother's Day when he grabbed her hair, slammed her head against the window of a car, and hit her in the face.
Jackson also claimed that Burgin walked her to her car and demanded that she drink bleach to harm her unborn child while holding a knife to her and threatening to stab her if she didn’t comply.
The actress in her filing reportedly claimed that she had survived domestic violence at the hands of Burgin and asked the judge to keep the latter 100 yards away from herself, the baby, and her terrier-pug mix and order him to attend a domestic violence treatment program.
Skai Jackson claims that Deondre Burgin choked her until she couldn't breathe
Skai Jackson, who welcomed her son Kasai in January 2025, reportedly made allegations against the child’s father in her recent filings. Jackson, 23, accused Burgin of being violent towards her for 6 months in 2024.
The Jessie actress claimed that Burgin, who was arrested on April 17, 2025, on an outstanding warrant, would choke, scratch, and slam her head into a wall every week.
The disturbing allegations continued as Jackson claimed that while she locked herself in the bathroom, Butgin punched through the door, slammed her against the wall, and “choked me until I could not breathe."
There is allegedly video evidence to support this claim. PEOPLE Magazine reported that a source close to Skai Jackson explained the reason for the restraining order:
"The safety and well-being of her family is the top priority," the insider says. "This restraining order was filed as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats."
In addition to the physical assault, Skai Jackson also claimed that her child’s father damaged her iPhone and television. In her court filing, Jackson stated that there was no child support agreement between her and Burgin and requested the court to draw up one, demanding that he cover all her legal expenses.
