The Society of Composers and Lyricists has officially announced the nominees for the 2026 SCL Awards. The event is now in its seventh year. The Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards are voted on entirely by working composers and lyricists.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards' eight competitive categories are as follows,

  • Outstanding Original Score for a Studio Film
  • Outstanding Original Score for an Independent Film
  • Outstanding Original Score for a Television Production
  • Outstanding Original Title Sequence for a Television Production
  • Outstanding Original Song for a Dramatic or Documentary Visual Media Production
  • Outstanding Original Song for a Comedy or Musical Visual Media Production
  • Outstanding Original Score for Interactive Media
  • David Raksin Award for Emerging Talent

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards ceremony is officially scheduled to take place on February 6, 2026, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Kevin Bacon and Michael Bacon will host the evening. There will also be a performance by Melissa Manchester.

Sinners and Wicked: For Good are leading the nominations at the 2026 Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards. They have got three nominations each. Beloved names such as Ludwig Göransson, Stephen Schwartz, Diane Warren, and Jonny Greenwood are also featured among the nominees.

Society of Composers and Lyricists announced the nominees via an official Instagram post, captioning,

"Congratulations to the nominees of the 7th SCL Awards! The final voting round will begin January 19th and end January 26th. The 7th SCL Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 6th."

Society of Composers and Lyricists' official website reads,

"The Society of Composers & Lyricists, the premier organization for composers and songwriters working in visual media, hosts the annual SCL Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation in music for visual media. Nominees and winners are judged and determined solely by member composers and songwriters."
