Did Taylor Swift launch her 12th album during the New Heights podcast?

According to Variety, Taylor Swift unveiled her 12th album during the August 13, 2025, episode of the New Heights podcast. The announcement was revealed in a clip shared on the podcast’s official Instagram page.

The clip showed Swift displaying a giant white box with the letters “T.S.” inscribed on it. She then says, “So I just wanted to show you something.”

And then went on to reveal a blurred vinyl of her new album, which is called The Life of a Showgirl.

The caption of the post reads -

“Posted at 12:12 on the 12th. Tay’s 12th album is called…………”

The album is now available for pre-order on Taylor Swift’s official website. On August 12, 2025, Taylor Nation, the Instagram account run by Swift’s marketing team, shared a carousel of photos of the singer in orange outfits from her performances, captioning it:

“Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”

Previously, the New Heights podcast teased a post, showing a silhouette resembling Taylor Swift. The caption indicated that the Kelce brothers will soon be releasing their new episode featuring “a VERY special guest.”

Netizens instantly took to the comments section and started guessing if the new guest would be Swift. Others speculated whether she would be releasing her new music during the show.

According to a report in Variety, Swift purchased her catalog of recordings in May, initially released through Big Machine Records. She said at that time -

“To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it. All I’ve ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy. I will be forever grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this to me. … My first tattoo just might be a huge shamrock in the middle of my forehead.”

The Life of a Showgirl signals a new era in Swift’s discography. Although no tracklist or official singles have been revealed yet, fans are speculating about collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter, as per a report in Business Insider.
