Epic Games has announced that the launch of the Fortnite skin of Tottenham Hotspur's captain, Son Heung-min, is on the horizon. Gamers can expect to access the new skin on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
The collaboration with South Korean football is part of Epic Games' effort to increase market visibility in South Korea and ensure the inclusivity of Korean culture in Fortnite.
Heung-min, forward and captain for Tottenham Hotspur and the Korean national football team, will receive a skin in Fortnite’s Battle Royale. With this new development, Son Heung-min joins other football superstars, such as Lionel Messi and Harry Kane, who already have skins on the popular gaming platform.
Epic Games has not disclosed the South Korean player's cosmetics price.
Everything we know about Son Heung-min’s upcoming skin on Fortnite as Epic Games plans the integration of Korean culture into the games
After wrapping up its Galactic Battle mini-season, Fortnite is set for a new battle royale in Chapter 6, season 3. After Son Heung-min’s skin is unlocked on June 21, 2025, new skins of Superman and Robin, modeled after the characters in James Gunn’s upcoming film Superman, will also be unlocked on July 11, 2025.
The Son Heung-min bundle set to be released in the Fortnite game store includes the football player’s official uniform, a “Forward Edge” accessory that changes style according to time, and a soccer-themed “Goal Getter” wrapping sheet. Gamers can also purchase the “Snap Ceremony” emote, which recreates the selfie ceremony as part of the bundle package.
These unique features will only be available until June 28, 2025. In a press conference on November 11, 2024, Park Seong-cheol, CEO of Epic Games Korea, alongside the Senior Director of Design and Senior Director of Partnerships at Epic Games, revealed the gaming company’s intention to dig its roots in the South Korean market through collaborations in the country’s entertainment industry:
“K-pop is a powerful cultural asset that connects global fandoms. Fortnite is evolving into a digital cultural hub that integrates music, fashion, and sports, and K-content serves as both an experimental field and catalyst for this ecosystem," Park explained.
The CEO concluded:
"Korea is one of the countries with a particularly high proportion of developers based on Unreal Engine," adding, "In the future, Fortnite will become a global hub that rapidly embraces K-culture and disseminates it worldwide."
Fortnite has also collaborated with the hit Netflix series Squid Game—their project launches on June 27, 2025.
