The internet is once again locked onto Twitch star Nina Lin after a viral livestream sparked accusations of shoplifting from Target, and the streamer recently defended her stance. The incident took place during an IRL shopping stream where Lin browsed inside a Target store.

Nina Lin was discussing rising prices and joking with viewers. Eventually, she reached the self-checkout section. During the live broadcast, viewers noticed that Lin appeared to scan only one item while bagging two.

The now-viral clip shows Nina Lin holding a stick of butter and a steak together. Only the cheaper item, the butter, seemed to be scanned by her before the items were bagged. After the incident sparked significant backlash from fans and enthusiasts, she addressed the matter in another stream.

However, instead of clarifying or apologizing, Lin doubled down. She stated:

"I am telling you, bro, even if it was the stakes, bro. Yo, bro. Ain't nobody missing no fu**ing money, bi**h. Calm the f**k down. No target is not losing no type of f**king money from some stakes, bi**h. I don't give a s**t. Go ahead, put that on Twitter. I bet you won't."

Netizens reacted, saying:

Internet reactions to Nina Lin defending the alleged Target shoplifting on stream

FearBuck took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to post the clip, where Nina Lin defended the alleged Target shoplifting incident on stream, captioning:

"Nina Lin refuses to apologize for shoplifting from Target, saying the company isn't losing any money if she does it"

Netizens were notably quick to jump into the comment section of the X post as they penned their opinions on the streamer's statement. Below are some of their remarks:

"It is outrageous to watch someone brazenly allegedly shoplift on camera and then act like the rules don’t apply to her. Anyone else would be facing consequences immediately, not doubling down with excuses. This isn’t “content” ... it’s alleged theft, and she should be held accountable through the proper legal process just like anyone else. 😡", expressed a netizen.
"when I come steal your streaming setup keep the same energy lol your company would not be losing money either. 😂", commented another.
"Imagine being someone and going on twitch and out of all the people streaming they choose to watch this thing 😭😭😭", penned a third.

Others also chimed in:

"“ain’t nobody missing no money”, she don’t realize that doesn’t matter the point is she is wearing a $1k+ canada goose, she is a famous twitch streamer that definitely has the income to afford it and yet for some reason she thinks it’s okay for her to steal", noted an X user.
"Bless your heart, sugar, but stealing is stealing, whether it’s a ribeye or a pack of gum. My mama would’ve tanned your hide for less, and Target ain’t your personal charity. Have some shame, child. You know who ends up paying for your little stunt? US! You're right Target isn't losing money because they wull just jack up the prices of everything to recover the loss.", commented another.
"Nina Lin brushing off shoplifting as harmless makes her sound oblivious to the fact that stealing isn’t activism just entitlement dressed up as logic.", wrote a third.

As of now, the legal repercussions of the incident remain unclear. According to reports, it may depend on whether Target or local authorities view the footage as evidence of wrongdoing.
