The former wrestler and WWE CEO, Vince McMahon, was involved in a recent car crash on Thursday, July 24, 2025, on Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in Westport, Connecticut, according to TMZ.
Despite significant damage to the vehicles and airbags deploying in both cars, including Vince's, all drivers, including McMahon, were reported uninjured, and reports state they were all wearing their seatbelts.
Coincidentally, McMahon’s car crash in Connecticut happened on the same day that wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
Details of Vince McMahon's Connecticut car crash
According to People, on July 24, Vince McMahon was driving his 2024 Bentley north on Route 15 in Westport when he rear-ended a 2023 BMW. Afterward, his car collided with a wooden guardrail in the middle of the road.
Some broken pieces from the crash flew across the road into the opposite lane, where a Ford Fusion traveling the other way hit the debris. The reports also state that the collision was so severe that airbags deployed in both McMahon’s Bentley and the BMW, and all three vehicles were severely damaged and needed to be towed. The wooden guardrail in the middle of the road was also damaged for about 30 feet.
Though Hulk Hogan, the legend, died on the same day as the crash, Vince used his X (formerly Twitter) account to pay tribute. He said:
''The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world.''
In his tribute, he also called Hulk a 'trailblazer' and mentioned that he was 'the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.'
He added:
''He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved. He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, ‘Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers.''
He concluded the tribute with,
"Today, we pray for him."
Hogan and Vince had a long and complicated relationship; they were, however, generally considered friends and longtime collaborators.
According to Entertainment Now, Barbara Doran, the driver of the BMW involved in the crash, took to Facebook to describe the crash, and wrote:
''Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash… Vince McMahon, former chair of WWE, hit me going 80–90 mph. I and the dog are mostly fine, but was lucky to have kept control of the car, more or less, as I shot off the road after being catapulted over 100 yards.''
After the investigation into the crash, McMahon received a ticket for reckless driving and for following too closely behind another car. He has a court date at the end of August.
