Cory Booker has tied the knot with Alexis Lewis after announcing his engagement with his girlfriend on Instagram in September.

According to a report in the New York Times, the couple tied the knot in Washington, D.C. on November 29, 2025, in an interfaith ceremony as Booker is Christian and Lewis is Jewish. Before their intimate ceremony, they were legally wed at the federal courthouse in Newark.

Lewis is the director of investments at Brasa Capital Management, a real estate firm in Los Angeles. Previously, she served as a business development manager of economic policy in the office of then-mayor Eric Garcetti. She worked on initiatives which catered to development in the Entertainment and Tourism sectors.

Reportedly, the couple met on a blind date arranged by their mutual friend. At the time, Lewis was visiting family in Washington, D.C., while Booker lived between New Jersey and D.C. They got engaged in Hawaii earlier this year.

Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis said “I do” in two different places: first, they legally wed at a Newark courthouse, which is the hometown of Booker and then in Washington, D.C., which is the hometown of Lewis.

The couple shared their wedding announcement in a joint Instagram post. Sharing pictures from their two different ceremonies, they wrote in the caption:

“Overflowing with gratitude. We said “I do” in two places that shaped us—Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C.—first at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful.”

Before meeting Lewis, Booker had been named as one of the Top 40 Bachelors by Town & Country Magazine. He had been in a high-profile relationship with actress Rosario Dawson, who bears a striking resemblance to Alexis Lewis.

While speaking to the New York Times, Booker said of his marriage to Lewis:

“Early in our relationship, I had a bittersweet moment of grief realizing my father would never get to meet the woman I’m marrying. But Alexis is exactly the kind of woman my dad would have wanted for me. I often joke with her that she and my father have so much in common, and that he must be smiling — and laughing — in heaven.”

Alexis Lewis attended the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., as described on her LinkedIn profile. She earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University. She then studied M.B.A. at Cornell University. After her internship at several marketing firms, she started working as a Marketing Assistant at Creative Artists Agency. Before her role in the Los Angeles mayor’s office, she worked at the Hillstone Restaurant Group.

A report in the New York Times stated that both Alexis Lewis and her husband are the youngest of their three siblings. He was raised in northern New Jersey. He attended Stanford University, where he earned an undergraduate degree in political science and a master’s degree in sociology. At the university, Booker also played Varsity football.

He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship, following which he went to study at the University of Oxford and then Yale Law School.
