American rapper TEC was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon. The news of his arrest broke out on June 9, and according to a report from Say Cheese TV, the rapper was detained at Fort Worth in Texas. Those who are familiar with the rapper would know that this is not the first time he has had a run-in with the law.

Dalvin Amir Sewell, or TEC, signed to No Limit Forever Records in 2010 and released a mixtape with them. However, due to his legal issues and a few personal reasons, he decided to part ways with the record label two years after working with them. In 2017, the Baton Rouge rapper and Maine Musik founded the Spider Nation.

TEC has also released a few singles and collaborations on his YouTube channel called Str8 Up Ent.

Rapper TEC's previous run-ins with the law

The rapper himself has opened up about his previous legal issues during an interview with AllHipHop in 2019. This was after his three years in prison. The first time Sewell went to jail, he was only 18. The Baton Rouge rapper revealed that he was charged with armed robbery and first-degree murder.

He clarified that one of the charges was dropped. In his words:

"But the murder got dropped, and I didn’t do that sh*t. But the armed robbery, I had to do time on that sh*t. They dropped it, and I ended up getting 3 years."

He also revealed that he dropped out of No Limit Forever Records after he was out from prison. TEC explained:

"When I came home from jail, I was trying to build that sh*t back up when I got back out. But I was like 'f**k it I got to start from scratch, so I might as well do my own sh*t.' In the No Limit thing, P wanted me to work as a group with other artists. I just wanted to be solo, so I fell back from the sh*t."

Dalvin Amir Sewell got out of prison in 2015 after spending three years in jail. In 2017, he decided to start his record label called Spider Nation.
