What are the assault allegations against Trey Songz? Drama explained

Recent assault allegations have come to light against Trey Songz, who was allegedly involved in a scuffle with photographer Isaa Mansoor. The incident unfolded at The Ivy nightclub in Long Island, New York, with the police currently in the process of investigating the case. Upon the investigation's completion, charges may yet be imposed on the singer.

According to TMZ Hip Hop, the incident happened when Isaa Mansoor was hired by the owner of the club to document the event. As the night went on, Trey Songz, who was already agitated upon repeatedly being asked for snaps from fans, allegedly threw punches at the photographer when he was asked to pose for one final picture for the night.

According to the photographer, Songz is reportedly said to have punched him and bashed him up against the wall. As per Isaa, Trey then went on to break two of his cameras and also get in a tussle with the owner of the club, who had barged in to break up the fight.

The aftermath of the incident wasn't pretty either, as Mansoor is said to have been diagnosed with a concussion, migraine, and an ankle injury. According to TMZ, medical professionals conducted CT scans and X-rays on the photographer and have prescribed him pain management medication.

The incident was witnessed by various onlookers, many of whom recorded the incident. The clips have now gone viral on social media, and Isaa Mansoor has already filed a complaint against Trey Songz. The singer's team is yet to respond to the allegations at the time of reporting.

A brief history of Trey Songz' past legal troubles

This is not the first time that Trey Songz has faced legal issues or accusations of violent behavior, and a similar incident relating to assault and destruction of equipment also occurred in 2016. In January 2021, Songz was reportedly arrested at a Kansas City Chiefs football game after getting into a quarrel with the police.

Besides the above incidents, some women have also filed s*xual allegation claims against Trey Songz in recent years, even though they have ended up in settlements, and not criminal convictions.

The last time Songz faced allegations of a similar nature (assault and equipment destruction), it was resolved through a plea deal, and he was sentenced to anger management classes. Such incidents have definitely caused negative publicity for the rapper, and it remains to be seen how the recent incident will unfold in the coming days.
