Britney Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, is writing a tell-all memoir called You Thought You Knew. In the upcoming book, he writes in detail about his rise to fame and his ultimate downfall. This memoir intends to show readers who the real Kevin Federline is, not just Britney Spears' ex-husband.
He even detailed the events right before Britney Spears shaved off her entire hair and went bald. He explained what happened after she checked herself out of the rehabilitation center and arrived outside the house.
Federline wrote:
"[She] showed up at the gate, ringing the bell and shouting a bunch of things that didn't make sense... The only words that came through clearly were: LET. ME. IN. Over and over again... Then she started climbing the front gate … I stayed inside with the kids, trying to keep things calm. I couldn't stand to see her like this."
He added that she was:
"in no condition to be around our kids... It was the right thing to do... I couldn't let her see them. They wouldn't have understood why their mom was looking and acting so bizarrely, and I didn't want to scare them."
Kevin Federline talks about Britney Spears shaving her own hair
Kevin also wrote about how Britney went to a nearby salon and asked the hairstylist to completely shave her hair, but the person in the salon refused.
In his words:
"When the stunned stylist turned her down, Britney took matters into her own hands, grabbing an electric clipper and shaving her own head... Eventually, she drove down the street to a gas station."
He also talked about the "umbrella incident." He wrote:
"That's where things escalated, the infamous 'umbrella incident'—when she grabbed an umbrella and started swinging it at the paparazzi... They were having a field day. The photos from that moment wound up everywhere—her shaved head, the wild look in her eyes."
What is Kevin Federline's upcoming memoir about?
The synopsis of You Thought You Knew reads:
"...it was his turbulent marriage to pop superstar Britney Spears that made him a household name and triggered a relentless media storm, reducing him to a caricature in a world that barely knew him. Behind the tabloid headlines was a devoted father fighting for his children and his sanity, navigating the fallout of fame and a fractured family, as everything around him spun out of control."
It continues:
"From the heights of global stardom to the pain of public ridicule, this memoir peels back the layers of celebrity, fatherhood, and survival to reveal the man behind the mythology. A man shaped not by spectacle or spotlight, but by love, resilience, and the steadfast resolve to give his kids a normal life."
Kevin Federline's memoir You Thought You Knew will be released in a few days, in October 21. It will be available in audiobook and hardcover.
