Key witness of the controversial Diddy case, Cassie Ventura, took the witness stand today. The highly anticipated trial of Sean Diddy Combs officially began on May 5, 2025. A significant moment in the ongoing court battle occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, when Cassie Ventura took the stand to recount the abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of the former rapper.
Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, denying all the allegations filed against him.
Cassie Ventura, the ex-girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs, took the stand on the morning of Tuesday, May 13, 2025, which was the second day of the ongoing government sex-trafficking case against the rapper. She testified about the alleged physical, mental, and sexual abuse she endured at the hands of Diddy during their ten-year relationship.
More details on Cassie Ventura’s testimony on Diddy’s trial
Cassie Ventura entered the courtroom under the watchful eyes of her ex-boyfriend, who turned around in his seat to watch her walk to hers. She didn't spare him any eye contact, and during her testimony, she dabbed at her eyes and nose at times, as reported by CNN.
After Ventura took the stand, she spoke about how she knew Diddy and the early stages of their relationship. She revealed that at first, they had a platonic relationship similar to that between a boss and an employee. She was signed to Bad Boy Records in 2016 when she was 19. She also revealed to the court that Diddy kissed her for the first time during her 21st birthday celebration in Las Vegas, leaving her “really confused.”
She also spoke about how “enamored” she was with him at first because she saw him as a “fun guy who also happened to have my career in his hands,” saying he called “all of the shots.” However, later she saw a different side to him.
Cassie revealed that she initially thought her relationship with Combs was monogamous, but later realized it wasn't, and Diddy had “many girlfriends.” She also added that their relationship was made official much later.
Ventura stated that Diddy's infamous “Freak Offs” started within the first year of their relationship.
“Within the first year of our relationship, he proposed this idea, this sexual encounter that he called voyeurism, where he would watch me be in intercourse with a third party, specifically with another man.”
According to XXL Magazine, Ventura said she was “confused and nervous” when Sean Combs first asked her to have sexual relations with a male escort, but “she wanted to make him happy.” She also felt she couldn't refuse Diddy because he controlled “a lot” of her life.
“He would smash me in my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me, stomp me in the head if I was down,” Cassie spoke about the physical abuse she allegedly faced during her time with Diddy.
She added that he experienced mood swings and would always look for her, call her incessantly, or send people to find her if she failed to pick up her phone.
She testified that she was afraid to tell Diddy no because of her fear that he had blackmail material against her.
