Nicki Minaj has sparked controversy after targeting Roc Nation, its founder Jay-Z and CEO Desiree Perez.
In a string of X posts shared on Thursday, June 19, 2025, Minaj implied that she has “juicy” information and “confirmations” about Roc Nation and its leadership. The controversy surrounding the Trinidadian-born rapper and Perez centres around a feud between her and Perez's daughter, Demoree Hadley.

According to a report in All Hip Hop, Hadley filed a lawsuit in May 2025 claiming that Desiree Perez orchestrated her involuntary commitment to a mental health facility in Florida under the Baker and Marchman Acts. Hadley further claimed in her lawsuit that she was institutionalized for nearly two weeks in multiple mental health facilities without legitimate cause.
Nicki Minaj has now sided with Hadley due to her past grievances with Roc Nation. In one of her X posts allegedly targeting the Roc Nation CEO, she wrote:
"All sounds so familiar. Trying to tear a husband away from his wife & family with lies & friends in high places. Yuck. No more distractions."
Now Perez has cited X posts including those from Nicki Minaj’s fanbase, called Barbz, in a legal motion filed recently. Here is what we know.
Desiree Perez cites X posts in lawsuit against her daughter, Demoree Hadley, amid Nicki Minaj controversy
According to a report in NBC Miami, Demoree Hadley previously filed a lawsuit against her mother, Desiree Perez alleging that she orchestrated her detainment under Florida’s Baker Act and Marchman Act by using “unlawful means.”
She alleged in her complaint that:
Perez used her “money, power and influence to tear apart” and to “separate me from my husband and to falsely accuse him of domestic violence,” per a report in NBC Miami.
Now, according to a post shared on the X account, Keeping Culture Alive, on June 22, 2025, Desiree Perez has cited X posts from Nicki Minaj’s fanbase, Barbz, in a legal motion, in response to her daughter’s ongoing racketeering lawsuit against her and Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation.
The screenshots shared by the account mention the cited X posts and hashtags linked to accusations made by Nicki Minaj on June 19, 2025, which targeted the company and Perez. Her legal team referenced these posts as evidence that an online campaign has been driven by the singer’s supporters.
In one of her X posts shared on June 19, 2025, Minaj apparently demanded her fans to show their support for her amid ongoing controversies. She wrote:
“Needing the Barbz is @ an all time high for every distraction. So let me start talking about what I’ve found out. About them. Real juicy. Confirmations. #MakeABaby #BannedFromNO #PaidMoles Order in the court.”
In another tweet, she said:
“They don't want you to see what I'm liking [on Twitter]. So that feature was demolished. Listening devices. Cameras. Car tags. Pages you don't follow under the 'following' section of X now? Hmmmmmm. Do I get paid for that? #MakeABaby #BannedFromNOremix NFL FIRE SOME N***@z”
Nicki Minaj also claimed that Roc Nation has unauthorized access to her social media or online accounts. She mentions Demoree Hadley aligning her experience with Hadley’s claims, hinting at similar mistreatment.
