Daniel Dae Kim attended the Tony Awards 2025 in a hanbok. The hanbok is a traditional Korean attire that is very similar to a robe or a coat. The design of the hanbok is loose and comfortable, and comes in simple colors and patterns, showing the Korean culture.

Hanbok is also a widely known Korean attire for events like weddings, ceremonies, and festivals. It dates back to the Three Kingdoms of Korea period and was influenced by clothing from Manchuria, Northern Korea, and nomadic cultures. While it shares some traits with Scythian attire, many believe hanbok developed its own unique style over time.

Daniel Dae Kim became the first Asian American actor to be nominated for a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play for his role in Yellow Face. At the awards, he wore a black hanbok with a white border, which honored his heritage and stood out beautifully on the red carpet.
