What inspired MGK to name his daughter Saga Blade? Rapper explains meaning while crediting Megan Fox's role as mom

MGK and Megan Fox welcomed their first child together earlier this March after splitting up in November last year. The two parents have been co-parenting their little one. MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, was on The Jennifer Hudson Show when he shared some details about his youngest daughter, Saga Blade.

He revealed why they decided to go with the name Saga Blade. In Colson's words:

"So, my family is Norwegian, and there's a Norwegian goddess called Saga, and it means epic story... And so, we named her Saga because to get her on this Earth through highs and lows - it truly was an epic story of love, pain, and a lot of magic."

He also shared how he feels about sharing a daughter with Fox by saying:

"I had it with a person who is the greatest partner, the greatest partner to have had a child with."

He also commented on how his daughter's resemblance keeps changing from looking like him to looking like her mother. He said:

"We go back and forth on who she looks like... Last month, she looked exactly like me, and now she looks exactly like her.'

In terms of family, Colson shares a teen daughter, Casie (16), with his ex, Emma Canon. While Fox has three sons: Noah (12), Bodhi (11), and Journey (9), with her ex-husband, Austin Green.

Will MGK and Megan Fox get back together again?

Megan Fox took to Instagram in November last year to announce the news that she and MGK are expecting a baby girl. However, a month later, TMZ broke the news that the couple had separated while they were on their Thanksgiving holiday in Vail, California.

Sources told TMZ that Megan:

"found material on MGK's phone that was upsetting, and it made her want him to leave the trip early."

However, a source clarified the timeline of their breakup, saying:

"They broke up in late November. They were trying to make it work again after the pregnancy, but they are both too hot-headed and fell back into their constant fighting. They can't get on the same page, and it's not easy for them being together."

Another source shared with US Weekly in May said that there's a high possibility that the couple will never get back together.

The source revealed that Megan:

"thinks MGK has stepped up and is being a good dad but doesn't think they have a future together romantically."

They further added:

"Megan is in heaven with her baby girl and is really focused on being a mom right now.... absolutely not getting back together at this point in time."

However, fast forward into Colson and Megan's co-parenting journey, the rapper told Hudson:

"Someone the other day was like, 'You're such a good dad!' just because I was holding the baby. And she was fuming. Like, 'No, no, no, no.' I just play the guitar and hope and pray that the baby is happy... I want to detract any congrats to me, and just move it to Megan. Because she really does all the work."

MGK and Megan Fox may no longer be together romantically, but they've embraced co-parenting their daughter, Saga Blade. While sources suggest a reconciliation is unlikely, both parents remain focused on their children.
