Mixed reactions trail Kai Cenat’s introduction of Streamer University. The popular Twitch streamer first discussed hosting a class to show smaller and aspiring streamers the ropes about creating content in February 2025.
In May 2025, Kai Cenat announced the application process for the weekend-long class. It is to be held in a real college and might feature popular content creators like MrBeast and Mark Rober.
LosPollosTV, in one of his live broadcasts, told his father about Kai Cenat’s Streamer University, and the latter wasn’t impressed by the idea. The streamer’s dad described the idea as a “money grab” and added that it was a scam:
“Ah, that’s a money grab. That's a f**king money grab!” he said. “That's like these f**king idiots who take stand-up comedy classes. You ever see that f**king scam? You’re gonna teach somebody how to be a streamer? Ok!”
LosPollosTV chimed:
“All you have to do, the tuition’s like 80 grand and you become famous.”
Kai Cenat clarified in a May 6, 2025, tweet that Streamer University is free and participants would enjoy access to live on the college’s campus at no charge.
Kai Cenat responds to LosPollosTV’s dad calling Streamer University a scam
Kai Cenat responded to comments made by LosPollosTV and his dad about his Streamer University venture being a scam. The 23-year-old online personality stated that he was disappointed that the streamer’s dad would make such a statement, as he was a fan of the latter:
"I think I seen like Los's dad, I'm a big f**king fan of Los' father, gang. The n***a gone said my sh** a scam. Los, I f**k with Los pops so heavy. When he said this sh** gonna be a scam, that sh** broke my heart."
The Twitch streamer added that his fellow streamers’ comments were made from the standpoint of those who hadn’t done any research about Streamer University:
"N****s is just not doing research, my n***a... It's like damn, n*****s is really. I think it's kind of like, I think it's hard to fathom that this is actually happening, gang. You feel me?"
When Cenat announced that he had begun taking applications for his training program, the Streamer University website reportedly received over a million applications immediately, leading to its crash. The Twitch streamer shared the news via his Instagram Story and assured fans that the website would be restored soon:
"Y'all crashed the god**n website. The website is crashed, but give us some time. It's going to go right back up, y'all. Oh my f**king gosh. N***a. N***a. N***a. Y'all crashed it. It's coming right back up. Do not worry. We going to get it back up."
