Chance the Rapper criticised Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during his homecoming show in Chicago on Friday, October 10, 2025.

During his performance at the "And We Back" tour, Chance sang Drapetomania from his second official album titled Star Line. The 17-track project was released on August 15, 2025. According to a report by The Mirror, the singer performed Drapetomania to criticize the immigration raids being conducted by ICE.

As per Complex, the lyrics of the track that also refer to 2Pac go:

"Tiffany fein in a blue box/401k in a shoe box/Her favorite rapper named 2Pac/Love 2Pac 'cause he shot two cops."

He then raps a line, which says:

"I got a new chain, it say, "F**k! Ice!"

Chance the Rapper stole the spotlight with his epic performance in Chicago on October 10, 2025.

It was part of his "And We Back" tour, which started on September 26, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Chicago was the ninth stop on the tour, which will be concluding on October 20, 2025, in Los Angeles, California.

The tour features special guests including his younger brother, rapper Taylor Bennett, Adamn Killa, Do or Die, TisaKorean, Juvenile, LaRussell, and DJ Oreo.

While appearing on Real 92.3 LA's The Cruz Show, Chance the Rapper described how Tupac Shakur has been an inspiration for him. He expressed admiration for his life, which was connected to politics, which influenced Chance’s work as an artist.

As per a report in Complex, he said:

“I'm super grateful just for 2Pac's story and the success and the messaging he was able to put out there.”

Shakur, who was known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was shot in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas. He died six days later on September 13.

Throwing more light on the late rapper, Chance added:

“I feel like the radical—the ability to use your words like a sword and speak freely and to speak for people that don't have necessarily as loud of a voice is, like, those are all things that I learned from 2Pac, who my mother made me listen to. She didn't have to make me, but she put me on at a very young age.”

The rapper also shared his thoughts on the ICE raids being carried out in the United States. He said,

“It's disgusting. I think we're just in a space where people are afraid to, I guess, really fight the system.”

Besides Chance, artists such as Cardi B, The Game, Kim Kardashian, Bad Bunny, and Doechii have also publicly slammed Trump's immigration agenda and ICE raids.

Chance the Rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, was born on April 16, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois. His father, Ken Bennett, was a political aide who had worked for Chicago mayors Harold Washington and then-senator Barack Obama. His mother, Lisa Bennet, worked for the Illinois attorney general.
