President Trump on Kid Rock's Nashville restaurant
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, President Trump took to Truth Social and congratulated Kid Rock on his new restaurant. He said:
"Congratulations to my friend, Kid Rock (I call him Bob!), on the Grand Opening of his new Nashville restaurant, “The Detroit Cowboy.” I hear it is a very friendly MAGA establishment, and look forward to going there sometime soon."
This endorsement comes in after Kid Rock's other Nashville restaurant, Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse was in news for sending undocumnetaed staff home amidts rumors of immigration raids by ICE last month, as per The Daily Beast.
Kid Rock had then responded to reports on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the immigration ICE raid at his restaurant. He said:
''Clearly I do not have anything to do with day to day operations at my Honky Tonk - but it’s good click bait, I get it.''
He continued:
''That being said, I 100% support getting illegal criminals out of our country, no matter where they are. I also like [that] President Trump wants to speed up the process of getting GREAT immigrants into our country - LEGALLY!''
''It's that simple folks. But the below is not a juicy enough headline to get clicks and views.. in this day and age the truth often is not. 🤷♂️''
Kid Rock and Trump met in 2017 and have been friends since then. When Kid Rock appeared on The Will Cain Show last month, he shared a little about his bond with the President. He said:
''We have a lot in common. I know the best hours to get him, which is really early. And then, you know, kind of dinner time late weekends when he’s golfing or something."
He then mentioned how he doesn't try to bother him, so whenever he calls him, it is just like a friend calling another friend. He then also spoke about people seeking to directly get in contact with Trump through him. He said:
''I feel like I work for the Government! I’m like ‘No I’m his buddy.’ I’m trying to get my ticketing thing done and I’ve been by his side since day one, so I’m not putting anybody’s agenda above mine.''
Moreover, Kid Rock's The Detroit Cowboy hosted Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders on June 2, 2025.
