Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, popular for their hot takes and misogynistic ideology, are facing sex crime charges from the UK authorities. In a statement released on May 28, 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service revealed that it had prepared 21 charges against the Tate brothers.
Andrew Tate is charged with rape, human trafficking, actual bodily harm and controlling prostitution for gain, amongst six other charges concerning three women. His brother, Tristan Tate, is facing charges for rape, human trafficking and actual bodily harm, amongst eight other charges relating to one alleged victim.
British authorities reportedly issued a European arrest warrant for Andrew Tate and his Brother in 2024
British authorities investigating the controversial brothers issued a European arrest warrant for them on charges in 2024 on “sexual aggression” charges for incidents from 2012 to 2015. A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service stated, per Sky News:
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police,”
They continued:
“A European Arrest Warrant was issued in England in 2024, and as a result, the Romanian courts ordered the extradition to the UK of Andrew and Tristan Tate. However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.”
The brothers were arrested in Romania on December 29, 2022, alongside two other individuals for multiple crimes, including rape, sexual assault and human trafficking in 2022. They spent some months in jail before being released in March 2023.
The brothers were then placed on house arrest, which was later suspended in February 2025, causing them to leave Romania and travel to the United States. While the trial date hasn’t been set in Romania yet, authorities revealed in May that the trial is expected to begin sometime soon.
Romanian prosecutors identified six alleged victims of Andrew Tate, who claimed to have been seduced to produce pornographic content on demand to sponsor a webcam business. On March 11, 2024, the brothers were re-arrested by Romanian police following a warrant by the Westminster Magistrates Court in London.
They were arrested on charges of “sexual aggression” towards four women. The duo appeared before the Bucharest Court of Appeal, and it was ruled that the brothers would be extradited to the UK after the conclusion of their trial in Romania.
The Tate Brothers have continued to deny the allegations levied against them. Stay tuned for more updates.
